Paediatric dentistry

We know how important it is for children to get the best dental care. Dr Chalita le Roux always aims to make the dental experience as positive as possible for all the children she sees. Her approach is gentle and slow so that children can develop a positive relationship with dental visits and build good oral hygiene habits for life.

Children usually get their first baby teeth at around six months of age. We recommend you bring in your child for their first visit at six months or after the first tooth erupts. Children must adopt oral hygiene techniques from a young age to prevent disease and tooth decay that may cause a lifetime of pain and complications.

Dr Chalita le Roux offers the following treatments for children:
  • Consultation and cleanings
  • Extraction of baby teeth
  • Pulpotomies (Root canal treatment on baby teeth)
  • Preventative fissure sealants

In addition, she will provide you with practical tips on how to take care of your child's teeth at home. This usually includes the proper way to brush and floss your child's teeth and other information based on your child's age and the condition of their teeth.
