Work With Us

If you are good at this job, you already know the things that make it bearable or miserable: whether the equipment works, whether the diary is realistic, whether anyone notices when you do it properly.

We are a single-site, owner-run dental practice in Amorosa, Roodepoort. We are small enough that those things are actually within our control — and we would rather hear from you now than advertise in a panic later.

Send a CV and, if you have one, a motivational or reference letter. Or email us directly: team@drchalitaleroux.co.za

Dr Chalita le Roux in the surgery at her dental practice in Amorosa, Roodepoort

What the job is actually like here

  • Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00. No routine weekend or evening shifts. What you see in the diary is what you work.
  • One site, one owner. Decisions are made in the building, by the person who lives with the consequences. There is no regional manager and no head office to escalate to.
  • Equipment that works. CEREC same-day crowns, digital scanning and digital imaging — maintained, not limped along.
  • A mixed case load. General family dentistry alongside cosmetic, implant and clear-aligner work, so the week is varied rather than the same procedure forty times.
  • CPD support for courses relevant to your role, and mentorship for newly qualified clinicians who want it.

What good looks like

Qualifications get your CV read. What we actually notice:

  • Anxious patients relax around you. Some of ours have not seen a dentist in years.
  • Your notes, your charting and your diary entries are accurate enough that the next person can pick them up cold.
  • You leave the surgery ready for whoever is in it next.
  • You say “I don’t know” instead of guessing.
  • Afrikaans as well as English is a genuine advantage with our patient base, though it is not a requirement for every role.

Clinical roles need current HPCSA registration and, where the role requires it, professional indemnity cover.

Who you would be working with

The practice is led by Dr Chalita le Roux — BChD cum laude (University of Pretoria, 2020), HPCSA registration DP 0118702, and a member of the South African Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry.

That matters most if you are early in your career: the person checking your work is a clinician, in the building, every day — not an area manager reading a spreadsheet. If you want to be taught, there is someone here to teach you. If you already know your job, you will be left to do it.

Roles we hire for

We recruit for the roles below. We also keep good applications on file when nothing is open — so a speculative application is worth sending.

Nothing advertised right now? Apply anyway and choose “Speculative — any suitable role”. We hold applications for up to 12 months and go to them first when something opens.

About pay

Most practices write “market-related” and leave you to guess. Here is how we actually handle it:

  • Tell us your expectation in your application. A number or a range is fine, and it will not count against you.
  • We will tell you straight away whether we are in range — on the first call, before you take time off for an interview.
  • Pay is set against experience and scope, not a rigid band, and it is reviewed annually.

If we are not in range, we will say so and tell you why, rather than let you find out after three rounds of interviews.

How to apply

Fill in the form and attach:

  • Your CV — required. PDF or Word, up to 10MB.
  • A motivational letter or a reference letter — optional, but it genuinely helps us. Same formats and size.

You will get an email confirming we have it. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder.

Would rather just email? Send everything to team@drchalitaleroux.co.za and tell us which role you are after. Emailed applications are handled exactly the same way, and under the same privacy terms.

We read every application ourselves. We do not work through recruitment agencies.

This may not be the practice for you if…

  • You want a large team to disappear into. There are a handful of us, and everyone is visible.
  • You want the volume and pace of a corporate group. We are deliberately not that.
  • You are looking for weekend or evening shift work — we do not run them.
  • You would rather not deal with nervous patients. A fair share of ours are.

We would rather be straight about this now than waste a month of your time.

    Questions people ask

Do you accept applications when nothing is advertised?

Yes. Choose “Speculative — any suitable role” on the form. We keep it on file for up to 12 months and look there first when a role opens.

Will you tell me the salary before I interview?

Yes. Put your expectation in your application and we will tell you on the first call whether we are in range.

Directions and contact details for the practice.

    How we handle your information

We use the details and documents you send us only to consider you for work at Dr Chalita le Roux Inc. — shortlisting, contacting you, and checking references where that is reasonably necessary. They are seen by the practice owner and the practice manager, and are not shared with anyone else or used for marketing.

We keep applications for up to 12 months and then delete them. You may ask to see, correct or delete your application at any time by emailing team@drchalitaleroux.co.za.

Please do not send us your ID number, medical information, or banking details at application stage — we do not need them, and we will ask only if you are actually appointed. Full detail is in our Privacy Notice.
